John Lennon: Imagine Peace

We saw Strawberry Fields and the Imagine memorial to John Lennon in central Park, across from the Dakota, his apartment building. People were walking respectfully around the memorial until someone laid a rose on top. Then people stepped onto to the circle and took some time there. This video was placed on youtube by Yoko Ono (or someone using her name).

Grover Hot Springs July 2010

Grover Hot Springs State Park is in Markleeville, CA. It has a hot springs pool, a cold pool, nice camping and hiking and beautiful meadows and mountains. It's popular with cyclists finishing the Death Ride, international travelers, and with the Lovwats.

Red Lentil Burgers

Sometimes dinner is a hit with the family, sometimes not so much. Last week I scored twice. Who knew red lentil burgers would be a hit? The meat eater was happy, the bean- avoider was okay, the third diner gave it a thumbs up, and I was glad to move the ever-so-healthy lentils.

The Statue of Liberty is my new BFF. Big girls are the best, especially ones from across the ocean. What a great token of friendship and appreciation from one country to the next. I like my Freedom Fries French, merci.

Zabar's NYC

We love Zabar's so much, we've visited three times for picnic fixings to munch in Central Park.
